Once, our puppy shredded my son’s folder. I sent the pieces in with a note that said “The dog really DID eat his homework!”

My teachers in school were great. You had an excuse? They would smile, hand you the homework sheet and say, “Since you did it and then the dog ate it, you should remember what you did. Turn it by the end of the day or you get an ‘F’.”
