Hi Gil, I’m Marty Moon. I thought I’d introduce myself even though I’ve known you for at least 50 years.

I don’t recall there being a TV station in Milford. This must be going to satellite on the Milford pay-per-view network or Pirate TV.

What’s with the suits, guys? Maybe when Marty got released from rehab they gave him a new suit.

Gil asks what channel the podcast will be on so he can see himself on TV.

P4: We will be using the Delaware Wing-T and the Thorp Special a lot, but don’t tell anyone.

It wasn’t the outcome Milford wanted, but it was the outcome Milford needed.

Marty asks, “Gil, did losing your last game of the football season inspire your basketball team to win its first game of its season?”

Gil’s jaw drops in amazement, “Are you drinking again? That is the dumbest question I’ve heard from you in years. They won because they were trying to win.”

Soooooo…what’s a football game got to do with a basketball game? Back in the day it never mattered if we won or lost against our rivals in any other sport. We wanted to beat the h*ll out of them, right now, as bad as they wanted to beat the h*ll out of us. It’s still that way today. What is amazing is that despite the highly competitive nature of the rivalry, there is a high level of mutual respect between the schools, unlike Milford and Valley Tech, largely due to Big Hairy Luke’s vitriol toward Gil.

P1.5 Gil: “Would you like a cherry or apple turnover, Marty?”

One last question Gil. Sure Marty. In all reality , didn’t you think that Mopman did a great job on the gym floor tonight ? Marty, Mop has been the best in the Valley for decades in keeping every floor not only the gym floor at Milford High shinning ! Hate to lose him to budget cuts . Thanks Coach .

P4- The new season reinvigorated the ant colony as they fall into formation, prepared to March. Probably to some dried up, formerly amazing sloppy Joe’s.

P4- Marty – “Light a fire under your playbook”? WTF? I need a drink

Wait, what? The game’s over? What about the 5th quarter?

Good thing Toby hit that buzzer beater to make it 77-64! Talk about excitement!

A better question would be, “Coach, you scored 56 points in the first half and 21 in the second half. What happened?”

So Gil, that’s what it takes to get you to do your job?…Lose to a guy who’s been runnin’ his mouth at you since last summer?

If you need extra motivation to get up for a rivalry game, it’s not really a rivalry game.

You know what never happens? News conferences after high school basketball games.

I’ll bet Gill is the first person in history to utter the phrase “light a fire under my playbook.” And, I hope, the last.

What’s the deal with Moon’s hand in P2? And he’s not at all looking at Gil while he asks his question. Wait a minute, I think he wrote some notes on his hand so that he wouldn’t forget what to ask. Ask speaking of not forgetting, I hope you never forget to read Mopped Up Thorp.
