Our youngest son was one of the nicest kids one could meet. The reason for this is we put him into sports. This normally, well-behaved kid became a suicidal maniac when put on the playing field. He literally threw his body into the game.
He went from soccer, to baseball, to football, to lacrosse to rugby. I think the next step would have been jousting. We’ve lost count of how many stitches he has but surprisingly, he has only broken one bone back when he was 9. Even then, he managed to break the cast while playing soccer on crutches.
The cast did come off the day after Christmas and he immediately hopped onto his new bicycle and rode off at Mach 6.
Today, he burns off his excess energy coaching his three daughters in various sports, after his daily run.
