I tend to agree with RJ. I found Plato’s discourse on the shadows the prisoners could see on the cave wall rather more contrived than I care for, myself. Plato eventually made his point but it took him an awfully long time to get there…
Of course, I’m not an ancient Greek philosopher so I might be missing something here…
