It is expensive there. I stayed with a friend of a friend who let me work for my keep. They gave me a loft over a barn but don’t call the outbuildings barns because that’s Norwegian for child or infant.. not unlike the Gaelic word bairn also meaning child. Sigh. Norway was great. If you got work as an opare, or Au Pair, you could work for your keep.

Not quite that bad, but the grocery prices here ARE generally high, and have been rising again very recently, alas.
