Not a good sign.

The “J” is wrong in the window.

One time I was on a business trip to San Francisco. A bunch of us went to a Chinese restaurant. One guy ordered a spicy shrimp dish. The waiter asked him how hot he wanted it to be. His reply “as hot as you can make it”. With a perfectly dead pan face the waiter asked “have you eaten here before?”

It’s called “family” as opposed to western seasoning. Never request that in an authentic Indian restaurant.

THAT bad eh?

He got the Chef’s Special?

Probably should not have made those jokes about the cook’s ancestry while chatting with the waitress. :(

It’s a bit disconcerting when the restaurant asks for an emergency contact number.

The cook’s name is Sam, and she’s Ella.
