It’s actually both. Cleopatra would have been comfortable in the world my mother was born into in 1919. Since then, communication is so improved, especially since the internet, that if a guy in Finland makes a discovery in his garage, by the next day the whole world can be aware of it and working on ways to improve and expand on it. That creates innovation at a pace that no one can keep up with.
