Nice try Luann, I actually thought the percentage in 1995 might have been higher than 60%. On the other hand Frank might still be playing 8 tracks which he bought in the ’70s so be glad he did not give you one of those instead of the cassette player and turntable you probably have.
I tried something similar with my dad over a pocketknife. I wanted a Schrade-Walden Stockman knife and tried importuning my dad to buy it for me. His response was the classic, “If you want it, get a job and earn the money to buy it.” I did just that, working after school sweeping the floor and stacking boxes at Huffines’ Hardware. At 35 cents an hour it took a while to earn the money to buy it.
Frank, why don’t you just tell Luann the truth?“Well I would, daughter my wife wanted, but I love the money I do nothing to earn far more than you, your brother, God, or anyone else in the universe!”
I got CD play for Christmas when they were becoming popular and it still in it’s package to this day. I didn’t have a lot of CDs then and by the time I had a decent collection, MP3 players were rage.

I bought a CD player and my wife wondered why we needed it. The next time we went record shopping all of the vinyl was gone.

Several years later, LuAnn’s old record player will be the envy of her group.

Wow, this REALLY dates this strip! Nowdays, kids would say, “What’s a CD?”
