I read Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead when I was fourteen and thought it made a lot of sense. When I was twenty-one, I decided to reread it and couldn’t get through it. The writing was turgid and overwrought, and the basic premise was shallow and juvenile. Brad is about fourteen so it’s age-appropriate for him to be an ignorant jerk. He’ll grow out of it.

I’ll give her the babies and schedules, but aside from my own mother(the insurance secretary), I’ve known no woman who could balance a checkbook!
