Things are always in the last place you look because you stop looking.
One technique to find something is to walk around, calling it. Another is to close your eyes and visualize it. Keep picturing it until you can see and feel it in your hand. Then, relax. Keep looking, but without the urgency that drove you before, as it will show up.
