Martin and Lewis once did a bit where Jerry proved that he knew the definition of “incorrigible,” and it was funnier than this.

Surprised he syndicate printed this one. I did Dick Tracy script and it was requested I redo a scene of the baddie shooting his underling. I didn’t have any problem with it, but it does seem off this would pop up a couple of years later.

Amazingly, Jeff is right and taught me a meaning of ‘toil’ I didn’t know. But I was skeptical so I looked it up. Per the Meriam Webster dictionary:

1. a net to trap game

2. something by which one is held fast or inextricably involved : SNARE, TRAP —usually used in plural e.g., caught in the toils of the law.

Jeff, if you shoot you’ll blow your index finger off…
