I had to stop feeding the birds. Too many feral cats.

Sometimes the chickadees yell at us if this happens. Really.

They get one refill a day. I put a bin under the feeder and 1/2 of the food winds up in it. I recycle that back into the feeder.

Accommodated a stray cat like that for awhile. It’d yell at me if I didn’t put food out in time. Never let me touch it, though, whip around and swat at my hand.

I’d feed the birds, but I have cats that go out in the yard.

True story. My folks had a towhee that would kick a sliding glass door if they didn’t put the seed out soon enough.

Funny, I was just sitting here a few minutes ago thinking I needed to fill mine too, then I read this comic. Must be a mind game from the birds.

They do this, a lot. First, the wren shows up, then the sparrows come, the towhees and woodpeckers (if there is no suet.) Midday, it’s the crows and the bluejays. The cardinals arrive around dusk.

In my garden they make comments. The moment I step outside the noise from dozen of birds is amazing. Once my feeders are full it’s silence all over.

It’s known as the CAT feeder around here.

When you put that feeder out there you made a promise and they intend to hold you to it! :-)
