I just went out and bought the biggest litter box on the planet that is actually a litter box. I don’t know what the problem is, exactly, and at this point I don’t care. 13 year old female cat, lost weight, pees in undesired locations, no medical conditions that can be detected by modern medicine. But she likes the new football field sized litter box, and I am now a daily scooper. Sometimes more. The other cats are not picky. Using her urethra as a communication device. It might be the stranger cat who lives in my she shed cabin. Monty is determined that MiniBell remains a stranger. Maybe stranger cat smells inspire poor toileting habits.
Pour an entire bottle of pet enzyme cleaner down the vent and let dry, no need to remove or wipe. It will smell like artificial flowers for a while and then should dissipate.

Thankfully, mine just hoark down the floor registers. Once dried, easy to vacuum up.
