Lockheed Martin recently demonstrated their 50 kW DEIMOS anti-aircraft laser. No frickin’ sharks, though.
Raytheon is developing a high-power microwave directed energy weapon called a Phaser.
The first guy I did sound for professionally, the late Chicago folk legend Mick Scott, also played electric at times – and when he did, he used an MXR Phase 90 phase shifter.
Did I ever say “Set phaser on stun, Mr. Scott”? How could I not?!?!?
