There is a lot of modernity I am going to shun despite me being very tech minded. No home automation, no self driving cars, no home connected appliances. “They and Them” will still mean plural people and how I will always use them in that way. But I am still open to electric cars, voting by mail, and other modern ways of doing old things. Case in pont: our 1940s dresser is being refinished at my home by a carpender who will change $300 for the entire work which is a steal to me. He told me either Cash or Check." I had to find the checkbook-the last one was written in 1995. Might run to the ATM in the morning for the cash just in case!
I don’t want a automated home, don’t need it either.A self-driven car brings up tooo many problems with performance under upper Illinois Winters for my peace of mind.Pleeeze, a fridge that tells me what I need!?!?!? Fuggittabouttit, I can see for myself! And, how does it know I’m needing/not needing some things???Mail-in vote? Great!!! Love my Kindle Fire, cell phone, Switch, computer & other things that have come into my 67+ years.Like most of life, we use what we can, ignore what we don’t need & try not to be a Luddite nor a Fad Of The Minute.
It was strongly hinted by my part-time employer that I need to invest in an Ipad and Iphone instead of my Android phone. I respectfully declined, unless they are willing to gift them to me.
I am an analog girl living in a digital world. Neither my husband nor I have cell phones, tablets, e-Readers. One computer, a PC, we share. No WiFi here either because we don’t need it. Our friends think we live like cavemen.
