I just pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep.

In 1978 we were out of school for 2 weeks from that storm.

Dad was a teacher at my school, so there was no playing hooky.

Actually, in the 60s and 70s, I really did walk to and from school in winter conditions which would probably cause school closings today. It was only about a mile each way, and it was flat, but there was snow and ice. Snowball fights would break out sometimes, particularly on the way home.

At frost glance, I thought Norm was gonna fabricate.

Backpack? I had to carry my books in a paper bag!!
