I"m old enough that music that came out when I was in my 40’s is played on “oldies” stations.

Clueless. Still, Sideshow Bob is correct about Toby not understanding what his father said.

I used to listen to the "Oldies"station" now I don’t even recognize the format. The “Decade creep” as I named it, was insidious, in the mid ’90’s Disco started creeping in, I heard the writing on the wall. I joked, “in another 10 years they’ll start playing hits from the ’80’s” how prescient of me. They did, and as time passed they added more and more now I see they play mostly stuff from the ’90’s and early ’00’s. Artists like Elvis and Dion and the Belmont’s and even the Beatles, and many, many others no longer get any airplay, as if the late ’50’s-early ’60’s music never happened.

Last time I was in a K-Mart, they were playing rap for background music. The location is a Carmart now.

The teen son of a good friend, who is a really good kid in his own right, was teasing me about my age. I told him something I read a long time ago…As you are now, I once was. As I am now you will be. It took him a minute to mull it over and he burst out laughing and told me I was right.

“I like that old timie rock and roll…” Plus folk, and country, and classical, and jazz, and blues …actually there is a lot of good music, past and present that the radio never plays. Still got my CD’s and if I need a quick fix there’s always Youtube.

It’s hard to imagine being old when you’re so young.

As we drift into the endless trending, it still looks like the girls want to be that 16star influencer & boys want to have her. It always looks new to the younguns, that’s how we get more.

I checked out an oldies station on a streaming service, it sure wasn’t my oldies.
