Reminds me of when I first got my license, borrowing my Dad’s car, that didn’t last long (especially after I crashed it) so I got a job and bought my own. P.S. the very first day I got my license I got a ticket for drag racing on Harlem Ave. in Chicago.
He’s using his feet on the shovel? I have to limit the amount of snow to what I I can toss (40 lbs or so max, 15 lbs efficiently) and that is just whanging the shovel under the snow. Maybe 70 is just too old for his sort of sport.
Car dating is not what it was. Had a 73 Buick with 2 bench seats. A double date fit perfectly! Now, with individual seats stick shifts between the seats, bulky seatbelt attachments sticking out of the back seats and yes the front seats go all the way back, but if either of you are “hefty” on that one seat, good luck. Think you would do better in the family designated bathroom in the mall, but to get to it you have to pass the cameras, In the 21 century BIG BROTHER watches your every move!! Cameras, GPS trackers in the car- in phones- and in daughters necklace!
He’s got his sleeves rolled up and isn’t wearing a coat or even a jacket. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve never worked hard enough shoveling snow that I worked up a sweat and took my coat off. If it were a warm enough day to make such a thing possible, the snow would start melting, and if I didn’t have time to wait for it to run off the driveway on its own, I would clear it with a push broom or something, not a shovel.

Planning on going somewhere, Michael, after all that shoveling the walk?

I have to say that Milborough gets a lot of snow if this is the amount Michael is having to shovel after a single snowfall.

“You scratch my back and I will scratch yours, otherwise you can take the bus for your date tonight.” Works every time.

If I didn’t have to get the car out of the driveway I’d shovel only 1 time out of 50

In the interest of public safety, Michael needs to get a crew cut. His eyes are completely covered by his long hair in the fourth panel!
