It could be worse – look up the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle (The “Flying Bedstead”) and you’ll see what I mean.

It’s a reference to this classic anime series from the 1970s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTY1i9F_7Yw“Star Blazers” was the American name for the “Space Battleship Yamato” series. I remember hurrying home from college labs on weekday afternoons to see this. After we saw the whole series, the station started in on “Space Pirate Captain Harlock”.

This is the comic that won me over, I was kind of on the bubble of whither I was to keep reading it. Lucky I kept reading it and enjoyed it
