I used to think the exact same thing till I went to switch belts, I had bought two of them in different colors so it was only then that I realized the first belt had stretched.
We have just been through – elastic belt – returned, woven belt (can put the buckle prong anywhere in the weaving) and then back to elastic belt for husband. First week or so he was happy with it. Now he is complaining that his pants are sliding down again and if he pulls it tighter he feels like a sausage. His next step will be to put an extra hole between the two – one too loose and one too tight.
(One day he will either admit he needs major surgery to fix his hernia or one day we may be rushing to the hospital with it having burst. Either way his pants will fit a lot better and stop sliding down.)

Sorry, but it’s likely that the hefty plugger will need pants with a very stretchy waistband or else switch to suspenders!

I see it as not having reached the end hole in my belt of several years that was not over size to start with.

I must be doing something wrong then. I am down to the last hole in my belt. I need to add another hole, or get a shorter belt!

I’m pretty sure that’s why they invented elastic.
