Been to couples counseling with two different spouses. The first one would spend 50 minutes crying through a box of Kleenex, which left 5 minutes for issues. Did not work.
Second wife spent 50 minutes justifying her unreasonable jealousy (she was even jealous of my cat), which left me 5 minutes to explain I was not giving up friends and companions of more than a decade so that she could isolate me.
The second counselor told us we should not be together, so we broke up … with the counselor. I remained with my second wife until her death ten years later.
