I don’t remember eating at any place where the servers were on roller skates, but I do remember very fondly the meals at A&W.

I remember them well. Was so impressed as an eight year old—— wanted to marry one

It looks a lot like “Happy Days”. ☺

I believe he’s doing an “Ina Bauer” move on those roller skates.

Stewart’s Root Beer and Rutt’s Hut in NJ both had skaters in the parking lots until the mid 60s

I remember A&W too, but don’t recall scates. Red’s version does, though!

Sonic restaurants had the motto “Service with the speed of sound!” and they were surprisingly fast. You can still find some in smaller towns that have “car hops” on skates — both the boys and girls.

Love Rover in the peddle cart! Also, apparently a lot of us have found memories of A&W drive-in restaurants.

Red definitely loves Rover…. and, vise versa.

So cute to see Rover in the pedal car—my son had one when he was 3 or 4 and he would “drive” over to our neighbors’ house when we went to visit. I don’t remember A&W drive-ins, perhaps a bit before my age group, but my dad would take us to a place called Royal Castle (not White Castle) where we would have tiny little hamburgers (like sliders) and birch beer.

I remember car-hops at Manners Big Boy in the 50’s! So cool!There was the back row in the lot, for all the hot rods and cool kids! LOL

A&W and Jerry’s Drive in, both in Burlington, IA, my home town. It was waaaay back in the early 60’s for me.

I just want to know how he’s going to clip the on the door.
