If everybody enjoyed jumping off a certain cliff and they jumped more than once, I might jump too.

I remember a Boy Scout campout I was on once where everyone was jumping off a cliff, and I jumped too. Of course, there was a pool of water to break the fall, but still…

Where I’m from the saying was if everyone jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge would you? And we weren’t from New York.

Andy, your response implies that warm and fun places suck. The metaphor is a good one, but poorly used for this issue.

Paige, if everyone lied about their resume, would you do it too?

Amazingly that argument works in Congress.

There was a Dilbert that turned this around, it was a comic about young Dilbert arguing with his mom about skateboarding, when she came up with the cliff argument he responded “well first I would ask everyone I could who had done it before, find out the technique, and if 100% of the people who jumped off cliffs before reported an enjoyable experience I’d conclude it was safe and yes, give it a shot myself.” Ask a hypothetically absurd question, get a hypothetically absurd answer mom.

When did Spring Break as in going to Florida/Mexico during school break even start? When I was that age, I don’t ever recall it being a thing.
