So that explains why it took so long to wake up after my surgery on Monday – I just had to finish that article in the 11 year old magazine in the OOB waiting room.
I had one of those after an orthopedic foot surgery. A combination of the pain meds. It was a wonderful feeling of euphoria, but scary at the same time. During the euphoria I also understood in a way that I never could without that experience why folks get hooked on that stuff.
I know a couple of folks who’ve had out of body experiences without anesthesia — from their own beds, as it were. While interesting, I’m not sure they would call them life-changing.
