The idea that the appendix is a useless organ is (possibly) out of date. “Recent research suggests that the appendix may serve an important purpose. In particular, it may serve as a reservoir for beneficial gut bacteria.”

Well, not to EVERYBODY that gets one. Besides, if gets inflamed, you can always give it back. That’s easily arranged by a surgeon. Gave mine back!
