This is why the pitch clock was imposed upon us. Umps can now call an automatic strike for these shenanigans.

Not sure why were making fun of the Astros. The Yankees were renowned for 5 hour 1-0 games. I think the delays were two fold. Slowing the game down made it harder on the opposing teams to get any rhythm going in the game and at the same time it provided vendors an extra 2-3 hours to sell food and drink.

So no more players like Mike Hargrove who had the nickname of “The Human Rain Delay”…

Have you seen the video comparing a preseason last weekend game to one from last seaon? 3 outs in the time to throw a second pitch, yea!

I think a watch would be required for every player.

If they would have let the umps control the game they would not need this stupid rule! (assuming the umps could have grown a pair and taken control of the game)

Surely he can read something else…. (I had to look at it several times to get “readjust” instead of “read just”.

I don’t know who this Jose is, because I gave up on baseball decades ago just for this reason. So, I’ll just replace “Jose” with Nomar.

And then there’s the pause to adjust the cup.

Considering ballpark prices,I WANT 4 hours worth for my money.

And the extra-innings “free runner” is an abdomination.You’re supposed to EARN your way on base.

WAY too many batters readjust their batting glove multiple time during an at bat. Drives me crazy. Quit wearing gloves or buy some that fit.

Read a story about a 1930’s ballgame—St.Louis Cardinals vs.Philadelphia Phillies(who were rotten)—Phils were ahead whenit started raining so they stalled all they could hoping the game would be called with them ahead.

But when a Phils pitcher famous for his control threw two wild pitches in a row,the great umpire Bill Klem yelled THIS GAME ISFORFEIT!!
