I remember watching a movie where a mom told her son “Everyone’s special.” His response was, “That’s just another way of saying nobody’s special.” I fundamentally disagree with that. But somehow we have this warped idea that one needs to be more special than the next guy. That attitude always leads to a less healthy society.
(In the same vein, and I forgot who said it so I probably have the quote a bit wrong,) “I’m going to live my life, something so difficult that it has never been attempted before.”
