I hated it when we went from coin slotted parking meters to the computerized system.

Life in England, oh, dear . .

Our library has a parking machine. Most of the time you’d go through the steps and THEN it would let you know parking was free that day. It’s been off for months.

We used to call that kind of rain a real frog strangler.

You can use a phone app now – much easier…

They have those now where I live. I hear they’re a !#^^G$^ nuisance to work.

I’ve seen contraptions like that for when you’re leaving a parking facility, never for street parking.

I haven’t been anyplace in several years where it was necessary to pay to park, but at least in our little town in the U.S., a ticket with a number just pops out of a meter when you pull into the parking lot, nothing as elaborate and difficult as this. But I don’t know abut other cities.

Glad we don’t have to do that in Australia! It’s mostly free parking at shopping centres unless you go to the city
