I hope that box is big enough to make brownies for all of us!

Mmmmmm. We like Annie’s (organic ingredients) brownies. Not cuz we be organic minded, more cuz they make a small batch, taste fabulosso & we can feel less guilty for snarfling an entire pan between us in just three days!!! (And, they’re cake-like. Yum.)

For Discussion: which do you like better, cake-like or chewy brownies. Enumerate, enlighten & expound upon your reasons why.

My husband made brownies the other day. We hadn’t had brownies in years. They tasted so good. They were cake-like with walnuts. I like both kinds ~ after all, they are chocolate!

My favorite brownie recipe comes from my mom’s vintage 1972 red and white check cover 5 ringer binder Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. It also has a good cake brownie recipe and blondie recipe. In fact, most of my favorite recipes come from that cook book!

I got my recipe from my mom who got it from her mom, who got it from a cookbook. My mom took the recipe and halved the sugar (it called for 2 cups) and doubled the baking chocolate (it called for 1 ounce). I reduced the sugar from mom’s recipe to just under 3/4 cup, and doubled the chocolate to 4 ounces. They are very rich, and gooey in a good way. Dense brownies.
