Drink more water and less beer. Lose a bit of weight and shift you diet away from red meat. You don’t have to be so drastic, just try adding a salad to your everyday menu. And some cherry juice.

BTW, cool psychiatric connection here: lithium was originally being researched as a cure for gout (worked, too), then the researcher, taking it himself, found how calm it made him feel. Grew to be prescribed as a mood regulator for bipolar disorder.
Yes there is a pill. my husband has gout and most of his family members and there are a lot of foods, meat and vegetables that can trigger gout. He had lost a lot of work because of it until he started taking the pill the downfall is, having to monitor his kidneys
