1986 my father’s mother…wrote her only son out of her will, 2012 she dies…so, her only son & his 4 children get nothing…wills don’t matter when you can’t even get your mother’s love
When my father died, he had a will . . . and a large charitable bequest . . . as well as descendants who expected something. Unfortunately, he also had a lot of debt. Lots of folks were deeply surprised. And disappointed, and dismayed.

This reminds me of a joke I heard years ago. The punchline was the reading of a will, which stated: “Being of sound mind, I spent it all.”
