My younger daughter has been our designated spider-catcher (we don’t kill them; we just put them outside) for years. I’ve watched her actually talk a spider into walking into our “spider box” to be put outside!
Big spiders, tiny spiders and sizes in between, I don’t like any of them. I’m not afraid of them, I just don’t like them, especially in the house or my little workshop.
Baby bumble bee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5pyXANcsns … But they changed the ending from what we taught our kids… I’m licking up a baby bumble bee…
With the female version of humanity anything is possible, in combinations unimaginable. That’s one of the reasons I still find them fascinating and wonderful, and I’m in my 70s. I don’t think I ever thought anything else either. Even as a young boy I never thought girls were “icky”, just pretty. I will Not, however, claim to understand them even after being married to one for more than 40 years, helping raise a couple, and having many female friends/coworkers and for a while what I realized later would have counted as an “office spouse”. That’s Okay! Just accept and enjoy. And Never hurt one if you can help it. Even if she’s done something really bad, just walk away.
Meanwhile, as I babysit a two year old girl…Tot: sees black lint on the floor Spider! * sobs *Me: No, it’s not a spider. It’s just a fuzzy.* picks it up to show her *Tot:* shrieks and sobs louder * SPIDER!!!

Well, Hammie, your baby sister is a….baby. They don’t yet know spiders are…ew. Or scary. Or poisonous. Apparently she thinks they are edible.

Our daughter tried to eat a dead bumble bee, a fact we never fail to remind her 35 year-old self.
