I remember people saying that when the DH was first used over 50 years ago that it would ruin baseball and it wouldn’t survive. Players will adjust. They always do. I don’t like the bigger bases, but there will be an adjustment there as well.

Baseball will never be consistent at this rate.

They have to update to keep the fan paying for those outrageous contracts.

The pitch clock should probably go, but the shift ban is great for baseball

Some teams are changing the cutoff time for beer to the 8th inning because the games are faster.

I stopped following after the big strike in 94 – 95. Millionaires and billionaires arguing about who would get first chance to pick the fans’ pockets. Yes, I’ll look at the standings every week or so and maybe watch the World Series if I like any of the teams, but no game attendance or tv or radio, no Fanatics.com, or other merchandise purchases. I got bicycle riding to do. I got camping to do. Got other things to do.

I thought I would not like the pitch clock, but it keeps the game in rhythm. Although there will probably be adjustments about pickoffs.

Banning the shift, though, I really dislike. A comment above says players always adjust. Not in the case of the shift. Although, maybe it’s the owners who cannot adjust to paying guys who can.

Now if they’d just speed football games up by about 50%.

The one I dislike is the 2 pickoff throws. It just seems wrong.

I’m OK with the pitch clock, but I think they should have left the shift alone. That’s just strategy…

There is one good thing about the pitch clock and banning infield shifts: the game is actually enjoyable to watch again. No more nine-inning games lasting sometimes as much as four hours!
