If that injured player is allowed in the game, their condition will worsen.
Load management or load of bull?
The performers on Broadway take some shows off too right? Rest the pipes and let the understudy in.
The understudy does as good as the star about once out of 10.
Mickey Mantle had a great 1964 World Series against the St.Louis Cardinals in a losing cause(3 home runs).
But In Game 4—ex-New York Met Roger Craig picked him off second base.(Craig was famous for his pickoff move).
Mantle passed Craig at the end of the inning and said—“Thank you for making me look like a $%*#^$^&IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE bleeping WORLD”.
What’s the big deal?
Fans understand that the regular season doesn’t mean squat, except for playoff seedings.
And maybe draft position.
.
So, if your team sidelines a player for either reason, you, as a fan, completely support those decisions.
There is a very simple solution. Reduce the number of games in a season so there is more rest time between games. Reduce the number from 82 to about 60. No more need for load management.
