Man: May I have your phone number? Cathy: Ok... but, of course you know the new rule. Man: There's a new rule? Cathy: Women only give out our phone numbers if the men give us their phone numbers. That way if you decide not to call, we can also decide to not call! No one knows for sure who isn't calling whom! No one knows who's the rejector and who's the rejectee! Cathy: If we can't have total commitment, at least we can achieve complete confusion.
