It always seemed unfair to me to have to do homework since we worked all day and didn’t appreciate having to spend an hour or two on it after we got home.
Homework! In theory, it was to see if you actually knew what you were doing, without being able to sneak a look at your classmate’s desk. OK, I can go along with that, but . . .
I already knew how to read when I started school and spoke two languages. I was simply indignant when I discovered that they expected me to go to school for another eleven years. Mum said I made quite a few impassioned speeches on the subject.
I am currently at work. My job entails waiting for other folks work. So once they start, I check their work. I like to say I watch other folks work, and get paid to do it. Today is my first Sunday worked in 9 months. I don’t like it, but the pay is nice!
