Pickles are in right now with the healthy food crowd

Where I work I stock the pickle set, and little bags of snack pickles and bottles of pickle juice sell pretty well

This is not new. An old episode of “Good Eats” on pickles had Alton Brown making pickle popsicles.

My niece likes the pickle juice snow cones. I don’t care for dill pickles much, but bread and butter pickles are okay.

cukes on ice with a little bit of spice. I’m with you gramps – sometimes I just want to know who is eating what they’re selling.

I’ll sample most things but draw the line at bugs.

I was looking at sous vide recipes and they all required salt, garlic, vinegar, and dill. Putting 2-3 dill pickle slices in each bag worked very well.

But what kind of pickle? There are so many; sour, half-sour, dill, b & b, gherkins, …

The Gilroy Garlic Festival was famous for garlic ice cream. The local emporium decided to make some and I got offered a sample. Which, it turns out, was enough.

Any Little League player who came by would want one. Our concession stand workers saved the brine from the big pickle jars and made pickle pops and sold them for a quarter.
