Those eggs are going to be impossible to peel. I had chickens as a kid and learned immediately fresh eggs do not make for great hard boiled eggs. I came across a book of just egg recipes and it said you wanted the eggs to be at least 4 weeks old. Back when we celebrated I’d always buy a couple extra dozen the month prior to Easter and they’d remain untouched until a few days prior. Also the dates on eggs are worthless. I always do the float test on ANY egg. I don’t know what happened in the market before I got them. Usually 6 weeks AFTER the date on the carton they have started to stand-up a bit. Keep in mind the eggs that float need to be tossed. The ones that didn’t need to be used with 2 days since the act of putting them in water breaks down the seal further. That is why you should only test what you want to use that day.

I can’t remember when I saw real boiled and colored eggs. Plastic eggs are almost cheaper and reusable. And they can be chocked full of treats.
