Try to think of it as carbon sequestration. Every solution brings better problems!

I spend a whole 2 cents a gallon for it and have used the same bottle for 25 years. Sad to think on Earth Day of the trash islands in the oceans.

I prefer my water room temperature, plus it’s supposedly healthier for you.

When my cat was a year old he got really sick. The vet we’d been using since we got him misdiagnosed him and he almost died on a Saturday. I found a different vet that was open on weekends. That vet got him over that problem. The local water here is heavy in magnesium. It doesn’t effect most animals, but my kitty had feline lower urinary tract disease that made him sensitive to it. We had to put him on bottled water and special food. He made it to 10 years old when a fast growing cancer took him from me. I had always hated water. I lived in several states and hated it in all of them (even the well water when we lived on a farm). When we were stationed in Germany in the 70s we were told not to drink the bathroom water because it wasn’t filtered like the kitchen water. I lived on the economy when I went back to Germany as an adult and since I wasn’t in housing I bought bottled water for everything that wasn’t boiled. I had to give my daughter who was born there fluoride drops because the don’t add in to the water like the states do. All of this is to say there are many reasons why those of us who are uber recyclers use battle watered. Hence after my cat had bottled water I found I love water and I drink it all the time. We used Evian in Germany because it was actually cheap at the commissary, especially since it was sold by the case. Now I use AquaFina but only because I have trouble opening the other brands. The cap is too small for arthritic hands to open.

Very interesting observation from someone in the Flint, Michigan area. I would think he’d appreciate bottled water.

never ever drink ice water, particularly if you do not know where the ice came from. Ice machines are the least cleaned, most unsanitary and most bacterial laden devices on the planet in otherwise sanitary environments inspected by the department of health.

I never carry plastic water but if I’m out and about I will buy it, despite the markup.

I drink room temperature water that I buy from a kiosk for 25 cents per gallon. I use reusable jugs to bring it home. Our water on the ranch tastes awful.

In Oregon they give the drug addicts that live on the streets food stamps. Oregon also charges $.10 deposit on each plastic bottle.

I’ve seen the drug addicts buy cases of bottled water with food stamps (perfectly legal). They then take the water and dump it in the parking lot and take the 24 bottles back for the deposit. The deposits are paid to them in cash.

Trust me, I wish I could get my spouse to just drink the water from our filtered supply from the refrigerator!

Caulfield thinks ice water tastes better. But his city water probably has some volatiles (chlorine?) dissolved in it. Our well water tastes GREAT straight out of the tap or even warmed to room temperature. When we eat out, we are always torn between ice water (doesn’t taste so bad, but hurts our mouths) and “agua sin hielo” which tastes like city water, but doesn’t hurt so much.

I’ve lived 82 years and never felt the need to carry water with me wherever I go. I live in the VA Blue Ridge Mtns. My well water is cold and delicious.
