    Far enough so you don’t have to see him pooping on the neighbor’s lawn 3 houses down. And since you didn’t see it, you can convince yourself you shouldn’t have to clean it up.

    Retractable leashes are awful. You have no control of your dog. And they are a danger to bikers who can’t see them when your dog crosses the path without you. I’ll stay with a good old 6 foot leather lead.
