When my son was in Little League, he was a good player. Unfortunately one of the ones that went to all stars was the coaches son. He wasn’t a good player, but he went and showed he couldn’t play. It was a pitty that out of 4-5 good players the one that wasn’t a good one went. After a couple years of that he didn’t play anymore. I think the number 1 rule of being a coach is that you couldn’t coach your childs team.
The beauty of childhood sports is seeing them without parents or adults spoiling the socializing they get when they just play by themselves. Our children are not the fantasies of our past but the dreams of the future.

I did Little League one year, the coach was only interested in winning, so most of the kids never got to play.
