Actually rather descriptive of the current political atmosphere!

It did, Winslow, until the republicans took power.

We’re trying to change it back, and they’re fighting to keep this one.

Nobody has reported being offended by it yet, but soon!

Banana Republicans want to rule.

And they want to make America into a Banana Republic.

The Velvet Underground would do a much better job than this Congress. Lou Reed for President.

spot-on! we elect doofusses, we get the banana republic.

As the wise Fore Father said in answer to the question…“a Republic, if you can keep it” apparently we can’t.

btw, i learned recently that ‘woke’, while grammatically incoherent, as the Captain of the Brooklyn 99 put it, is derived from an ancient Sumerian word meaning idiocy or addled. they used it, for example, when a brick would come lose and hit someone in the head…; the person that got hit was ‘woke’ for a while… until they recovered their senses. Some never did and were destined to live their lives completely detached from reality.

When you refuse to see the world for what it is, you will see other forms of reality. This is why and how the 70 million created Faux News, etal. and how libertarians are formed.

Never thought of it before but the Red States are like mini-banana republics.

I don’t care about parties. If you have a society that tacitly allows its citizens to be shot up in the numbers this society does because it has been brow-beaten about the possible loss of a “right”, then it loses its claim to decency and all that entails. It’s not the guns of any size or caliber that are wreaking mayhem. It is entitled, angry, morally bereft PEOPLE.
