Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for December 10, 2001
Transcript:
Cathy: My friend and I put a $15 limit on gifts this year. Saleswoman: Excellent! This is $15 and it's a $40 value! Cathy: But what if she gives me a $15 gift with a $20 or $30 value? I don't want my $15 gift to look more expensive than her $15 gift. Do you have anything for $15 that's a $15 value? Saleswoman: No, for a $15 value, you'll only pay $6.99! Cathy: Nothing like clear guidelines to completely complicate life... Saleswoman: At $6.99, you could buy her two!

I will honestly never understand this way of thinking, the idea that your gift has to somehow equate the other person’s gift even though that’s not possible
