According to the Pirate broadcaster, “the gunner”, Back when Tony Perez (the all-star and first Cuban Hall of Famer) played for the Reds, he used to carry his wallet in his back pocket during the games. The Gunner (you know who he was) said that Tony didn’t trust anyone with his money. When Perez signed to play in the U.S., his bonus was $2.50! That was what the team paid to get him his visa to get into the country.
