I called them Pillbugs, I finally coaxed some strawberries to grow when I lived in AZ, the little buggers ate them. I think there were 6 berries, everyday I drooled waiting for the right moment to harvest my crop. Day came and the chumps were chowing down on them. They got up before me! I have a few words to about them but there’re not allowed here. I’ll never forgive them!
Armadillidium vulgare, the common pill-bug, potato bug, common pill woodlouse, roly-poly, slater, doodle bug, or carpenter, is a widespread European species of woodlouse. They were introduced to North America continent by European Settlers.
I was the proud owner of a 1973 Datsun 240Z for over 45 years. It’s styling is still admired and in demand. But Nissan seems that the shape of pill and sow bugs is what the Z supports want. Surprise, another reason that Nissan has been left in the dust buy other car makers.
The first year in my current place, I noticed that many of the Roly-Polys were a light brown, rather than a dark brown. Since then, they’ve all been dark brown… Odd.
Fun fact they are crustaceans and not actual bugs. They breathe through modified gills which is why they need to live in very moist environments like under logs.

San Antonio College recently changed their mascot from the Rangers to the Armadillos. Curl up and hide.
