Not a fan of Stephen King (yes, I have read a few of his books – I have a reading compulsion). Now I’m going to have to look up David Foster Wallace. The name doesn’t ring any bells with me.
I read because I love reading. No TV. It was too boring. Commercials were the same on every station! Last year I read 110 books. So far this year I’ve read 35.
I’m neutral about King. He’s a good writer but I don’t care much for suspense related stuff. Wallace for me is in the same category as Thomas Pynchon. The theme of everything I’ve read by Wallace is, “I’m extremely clever.”
