In the Easter story, Saturday was the day he took off. Christians moved it one way & Muslims the other, but the book says “keep it Holy.”

No, although some forms of Christianity have referred to Sunday as the Sabbath, the old testament is quite clear that god rested on the 7th day and the new testament is quite clear that Jesus rose on the first day of the week. Sunday has never been considered to be the last day of the week.

That’s why the Jewish sabbath day is Saturday.

For Jews, Saturday is the Sabbath (Shabbat). Early Christians also had Saturday be the Sabbath day. It changed over the first centuries of Christianity, with an edict by Constantine in 321 having a big part in that.

Some protestant groups take this as proof that mainstream Christianity has lost its way. They point out that the 10 Commandments say “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” but nearly all Christians have forgotten that Saturday is the real Sabbath day and therefore they do not keep it holy.

Looks like we may have a budding Seventh Day Adventist.
