Mule Uvula played for the Philadelphia Athletics before WWI. He had a few good years, hitting .352 with 43 doubles in 1911. Sadly, one night after a big win in 1913, he was run over by a Hupmobile as he was staggering back to the hotel from the team’s favorite saloon.
