Yang used to follow me off on long walks where I’d occasionally have to pry apart the second and third wire of a barbed-wire fence and slip through; he could just walk underneath, but he always waited for me.
One time after I had gotten through the last fence before returning home, I suddenly took off running for the house instead of walking back calmly like we usually did. Took him a few steps to catch on before he was off like a shot, and he passed me like a cannonball about ten feet farther on and didn’t slow down until he was at the back door.
