I remember when Cracker Jack had real toys inside. Now, of course, they are just printed paper, usually a puzzle or sticker. I haven’t seen toys in cereal for many years. Captain Crunch had a famous whistle that launched the Blue Box. The Phone Company had to make sweeping changes to counter that. The changes would have happened anyway, but the Blue Box forced the changes to happen sooner.

‘In the day’ I don’t remember hearing of lawsuits regarding choking hazards. Were there even warnings printed on the boxes?
But then it was the era when BIC pens didn’t have holes in the caps.

When you’re a kid, cheap plastic injection mold toys don’t bother you. The hard part was waiting until you got to the bottom of the box to get it.
